Greenhouse Gases

Climate change is happening, and experts believe it endangers human health. As a healthcare company with a commitment to working together for a healthier world, we are concerned about these impacts. According to the World Health Organization, extreme weather, flooding and changes in infectious disease patterns are among the ways climate change will affect health around the world, particularly in developing countries. Industry, governments and the public all have a responsibility to address this evolving challenge.

Greenhouse gases (GHGs) are emitted during the research, manufacture, transport and sale of Pfizer products. Pfizer has sought to minimize GHG emissions through a 1996 global company standard requiring energy conservation reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. We have further challenged ourselves to reduce our GHG emissions by establishing a first-generation, and then a second-generation GHG reduction goal. We are recognized globally, regionally and locally for our commitment.
